CLASS DESCRIPTIONS & REQUIRED DRESS CODE

• Tinys- An introductory level combination of ballet, tap and creative movement. (Ages 2 ½-5)

• Combo I Ballet, Tap, Jazz- 30 minutes of each style of dance. This class teaches the foundations for a solid dance education. Dancers enrolled in this class are considered part of the performance ensemble. (Ages 5-7)

• Ballet Foundations Combo II- 60 minutes of introductory Ballet barre, center and across the floor work to
prepare dancers for Ballet I. This class must be taken along with Tap/Jazz Combo II. (Ages 6-8 or to the discretion of the teacher)

• Tap/Jazz Combo II- 30 minutes of each style. Ankle and foot strengthening exercises for beginning tap skills
continued alongside of warm up and stretch, basic Jazz jumps and turns in fun combinations. This class must be
taken along with Ballet Foundations Combo II. (Ages 6-8 or to the discretion of the teacher)

• Ballet I- 60 minutes of Ballet technique. Full barre and center work. (Ages 8-10 or to the discretion of the teacher)

• Ballet II and III- 90 minutes of Ballet. Full barre, using changes of direction and transfer of weight, full centre
work to include adagio, diagonals, and more advanced allegro combinations, as well as a focus on developing
artistic expression. (Ages 10 and up or to the discretion of the teacher)

• Jazz – Full warm up to include conditioning, flexibility training, and balances; travels across the floor, use of
proper technique, as well as extended floor work, turn combinations and fun stylistic choreography.

• Lyrical/ Contemporary – 60 minutes of technique with artistic combinations, extensive floor work, weight
sharing and transfer patterns, improvisation and expression through movement. (Ages 10 & up or to the discretion of
the teacher.)
• Modern -Horton Based- 60 minutes of the modern technique Horton. Dancers will learn based on the
movement of this world-famous technique. (Ages 10 and up or to the discretion of the teacher.)

• Tap  – 30-minutes of high energy tap dancing. Across the floor, combinations and changes of rhythms. (Ages to
the discretion of the teacher.)

• Tumble – 60 minutes of Tumbling. The focus is on strength and flexibility, beginner through intermediate level
acrobatic tricks and techniques along with across the mat combinations generated by the ability level of each
individual dancer.

• Pointe- 30 minutes. As an extension to the Ballet curriculum. Students must be enrolled in Ballet II/III three
times/week and have approval from a teacher.

• Jump/Turn Technique I/II and III-Recommended for ALL students! A class focusing only on technical skills needed for
perfecting jumps and turns. Recital costume is not required for this class. (Ages 8 & up)

All classes require hair to be up in a tight, clean bun. No jewelry is to be worn during class. Appropriate dance warm ups and sweaters are
allowed in the warm-up phase of class. Dance shoes are to be purchased for the first day of class. Please see below for specific requirements.

• Tiny – Light pink leotard, pink tights, pink Ballet slippers and black patent leather Tap shoes.

• Combo I Ballet/Tap/Jazz – Light blue leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers, tan slip-on bootie Jazz
shoe, tan buckle Tap shoes.

• Combo II Ballet Foundations – Purple leotard, pink tights, pink Ballet slippers.

• Combo II Tap/Jazz – Purple leotard, pink tights, tan slip-on bootie Jazz shoe, tan buckle Tap shoes.

• Ballet I- Navy blue leotard, pink footed or convertible tights, pink split sole alley slippers. No skirts, or
dresses. Tights should be worn into shoes, not rolled up.

• Ballet II- Black leotard, pink footed or convertible tights, pink split sole alley slippers. No skirts, or
dresses. Tights should be worn into shoes, not rolled up.

• Ballet III- Any color leotard, pink footed or convertible tights, pink split sole alley slippers. No skirts, or
dresses. Tights should be worn into shoes, not rolled up.

• Jazz & Technique – Any color leotard, black, tan, or pink tights. Tan slip-on bootie Jazz shoe.

• Contemporary II/III – Any color leotard, black, tan, or pink tights. Tan slip-on bootie Jazz shoe.

• Modern- Any color leotard, black tan or pink tights, bare feet.

• Tap – Any color leotard, black, tan or pink tights. Tan Mary-Jane buckle Tap shoes.

• Tumble – Any color leotard, black, tan or pink footless or convertible tight. Bare feet.

• Male Dancers- Black tights or fitted dance pants, clean white t-shirt, black Ballet shoes, black Jazz shoes.
